Clinical Practice and Developer of Group Education Programs

Jewish Family Service, Stamford, CT. Developed services for interfaith couples and led a support/educational group with a local rabbi and priest, which met monthly for 8 years. Developed and facilitated community Family LIfe Education workshops for the elderly, the bereaved, and those recovering from trauma.

Executive Director

Mid Fairfield Child Guidance Center, Norwalk, CT. Responsible for all administrative, program, marketing, and fund-raising functions for this mental health community agency, providing services to children and families. This position required active board and community relationships at a time of severe budget restrictions and the need for program and staff changes.

Executive Director

Concord Family Service Society, Concord, MA. Responsible for all clinical and administrative services for this social service agency, providing professional counseling to individuals and families from all age groups and socio-economic backgrounds. Managed and developed state contracts for services to families with children at risk of abuse and neglect. Developed new programs: Employee Assistance contracts with three area corporations, and Divorce Mediation services. Doubled the size of the staff and budget, and developed fully-involved Board of Directors and community liaisons. Began computerization of financial functions, utilizing graduate school volunteers.

Senior Caseworker and Management Assistant

Family and Children's Service, Stamford, CT. Full counseling caseload with adult and family clients of this multi-service agency, furthering expertise with individual and marital therapy, gerontology, group therapy, and trauma. Developed group psychotherapy and family life education services, both providing leadership, and training other clinicians. Program director for services to pregnant teens and families with children at risk of abuse and neglect, working closely with other community agencies. Director of office in Darien, CT, reaching out to families and schools in this affluent community. Provided supervision to graduate students and to new MSW staff.

Inpatient Coordinator

North Central Florida Community Mental Health Center, Gainesville, FL. Performed psychosocial assessments, case management, and brief therapy with acutely psychotic or alcohol/drug addicted patients and their families. Worked closely with outpatient, day treatment and community referral sources to ensure continuity of care.
